other than that, all the changes are moving in a positive direction.''
Debra Stark, owner of Debra's Natural Gourmet, says all the
changes are exciting. She says there is a nice mix of businesses in
the village that are drawing new people to West Concord. The
fencing school, for example, is attracting families from other towns
who've never been to West Concord. Stark, who has been in West
Concord for 25 years, says she's not surprised businesses and
developers are flocking to the village.
"I feel it's that community like 'Cheers,' where everybody knows
your name, and that's becoming a rare commodity in this country
of our's,'' Stark says. "I think there is a new energy and sense of
excitement in the community that's being built.''
Stark is particularly excited about the new housing at Brookside
Square because it will bring more people to the village and help
beautify the area. She said the building at 50 Beharrell Street was
not in good condition. "It looked like a warzone,'' she says. "Instead,
