How was the experience of making the movie? It was intimidating because I was at a point where I was still nervous about taking the job, so it was kind of 'What have I gotten myself into?' But it was a great experience.
Can you tell me a little bit about The Avengers (due to open on May 4, 2012)? We just did that in New Mexico … That's not the sequel to Captain America, but it's kind of a follow up, and it's the inte- gration of all the different super heroes… Iron Man, Thor, and The Hulk.
I heard that you had signed a deal with Marvel Studios … was there a package that you had signed on for? Can you tell us about that? Yes, for six movies. Three Captain Americas and three Avengers. We've got one Captain America down and one Avengers down. We'll probably start another Captain America sometime late next year, maybe even early in 2013. They have the option to do three more. They don't have to ... It's a matter of whether or not the films perform well in the box office and on DVD sales.
How did you first break into acting? Well this is where parents are so crucial … so crucial. I had a lot of actor buddies who had a bumpy start. It all comes down to how accom- modating and supportive my parents were. I knew I wanted to act since my junior year in high school. We had one friend in New York, a family friend, who was an actor, and I kind of picked his brain. I said, 'How would I go about doing this?' And he said, 'You need an
