In addition, if the author publishes ebooks, there is a much
higher profit margin on them than printed books. Ric Wasley, a
prolific writer in the mystery and paranormal genre whose just
released book is Candle in the Wind, says he makes more money
on an ebook that sells for $4.99 than on a $25 hard cover.
For Sudbury-based writer Elizabeth Cygan, going the self-published route in 2011 was the only reasonable choice. Cygan sent her
children���s book, A Tale of Two Tails: The Adventures of Ben and Bel,
to 50 or 60 publishers and says no one expressed interest. So, she
thought, ���The only way I can get this out there is if I do it myself.���
